GENERAL QUESTIONS ON THE LET’SFIND DIRECTORY

How is my placement on the Let’sFind directory decided?
Let’sFind editors will assess your website and the information that you have submitted. Your website will be listed in what is deemed to be the relevant category by our editors.

How do I find a higher level category?
The Let’sFind directory has been designed to ensure ease of use and navigation. If upon entering the website at any point, you wish to go to a ‘higher category’, you will find the higher level category listed just below the Let’sFind logo. If you wish to go to the home page, you will find a home link at the top left hand corner of every page.

What is a business listing?
These listings are from companies who have paid to be listed for their products and services. All listings have been editorially checked for accuracy and relevance - plus all have been checked for their ability to supply customers in the UK and Ireland - even if they are a provider from outside the UK and Ireland. The order in which sites are listed is according to the amount they are willing to pay for a referral. For more information, click on www.uk.overture.com

I work for a charitable organisation- do I need to pay to be included?
No- any non-profit organisations will receive a free listing- submit your website here

I am not happy with my placement on the Let’sFind directory- can I change it?
All Let’sFind editors follow strict guidelines regarding the placement of websites. For example, if a computer repairs shop only repairs computers in Edinburgh, the website will be listed regionally in Edinburgh. If you feel that your site is in the incorrect section, then contact us. On the contact page, please fill in the form- making sure to choose ‘Website Appeal’ from the drop down list. Please note- this does not guarantee any changes will be made.

Why isn’t my site in the Let’sFind Directory?
There are a number of reasons as to why your site is not listed in the Let’sFind:
The site has been added, but the directory has not been updated;
The site may never have been listed because it may not have been suggested or we have decided that the site cannot be listed (please check our guidelines for submission.

I have submitted to Let’sFind, but my site hasn’t been added- why is this?
This may be because the Let’sFind directory has not been updated. Another reason why you may not be listed is that the site contravenes our submissions policies. Please read our guidelines for submission for more information.

How will I find my site in the Let’sFind directory?
You can start to search for the website on the Let’sFind homepage and work through the categories. If your site has been recently accepted on to the Let’sFind directory, please also check our new sites section.

What is the difference between the Let’sFind Directory and the Let’sFind Search?
The Let’sFind directory has categorised the WWW into 10 main sections. These have been broken down in to various categories and sub-categories to ensure the correct placement of website.

All listings have been editorially checked for accuracy and relevance - plus all have been checked for their ability to supply customers in the UK and Ireland - even if they are a provider from outside the UK and Ireland. How do I search?
There are three ways to search in Let’sFind:
1. by browsing through our web directory;
2. by searching via our search engine
3. by searching through our reference section.

How do I search using your search facility?
When searching on Let’sFind, type in a couple of descriptive words that best describe what you are looking for. For successful results, make sure your search is as specific as possible i.e. - “cheap”, “hotel”, “Brighton”.

SUBMITTING YOUR WEBSITE TO LETSFIND

How do I submit a website?
To be listed in the Let’sFind Directory, you must suggest a site to Let’sFind in order for our editors to evaluate your website. To ensure that you have submitted the correct information, please make sure that you have included the correct details, your name, your email address, website address and nature of the website. When answering the question “is there anything you would like to tell us to assist our review of the site’ please give us a very brief overview of what services you provide- no more that 30 words. Please do not use this as an excuse to say how you are number one- it only means that it will take our editors longer to get the site listed.

Is there a way to increase my rankings?
You can increase your rankings on our search facility through submitting to the services provided by Overture UK - who are able to also display your listings on most leading search portals in the UK including Yahoo, AOL and MSN UK and Let’sFind.

What is deemed a commercial site?
A commercial website is a site that makes money from any source, whether it directly sells products and services via eCommerce or is a brochure website, details the products and services the company provides.

Why do I only have a regional listing?
If your company only provides services to a specific region or locality or your site is only of interest to those in a specific area, our editors will place your site in the most relevant category.

My site has been added- do I need to keep adding it every month?
No- your site is listed on the Let’sFind Directory for a year. When that year is up, you will be automatically added to the directory

Can I get a listing deleted?
Yes- simply fill in our delete site form. To do this, go to the contact page, and simply fill in the form- making sure to choose ‘Delete Site’ from the drop down list. We will verify your details and the site will be deleted upon the next update.

What are the sponsored listings?
These listings are from companies who have paid to be listed for their products and services. All listings have been editorially checked for accuracy and relevance - plus all have been checked for their ability to supply customers in the UK and Ireland - even if they are a provider from outside the UK and Ireland. I am listed in the Let’sFind search- will I automatically get listed in the Let’sFind directory?
No the Let’sFind directory and search engine are independent of each other. To be considered for inclusion in Let’sFind, submit your site here.

How do I notify of changes to my website?
If you have changed the services / products that you have provided, please fill in our change description form. To do this, go to the contact page, and simply fill in the form- making sure to choose ‘Change Description’ from the drop down list Please note, whilst we will endeavour to change the description of your site, changes to the description are not guaranteed.

How long does it take for my site to get listed?
Once your site has been submitted to Let’sFind, your site will be reviewed by one of our editors within seven working days.
Once the site has been accepted, your site will be added to the Let’sFind directory for the next site update (which is usually every two-three days).

What are your guidelines for submission?
Let’sFind will not include sites that are considered unlawful. This includes:
Website with material that is considered illegal or infringes on property rights;
Website that advocate or solicit illegal activity (for example fraud);
Website that contain information that is deemed libellous;
Websites that help users commit illegal or unlawful acts (for example illegal downloading).

Are sites always added?

No- you must submit your website to Let’sFind to be reviewed by one of our editors.

Where do I go to submit a site?
On the home page you will find a link in the right hand box to submit your site. Throughout the site you will find a link on every page to submit your site (at the top left hand corner). Alternatively, Click on our submit site link.

OTHER QUESTIONS ON LETSFIND

I have found a site on the Let’sFind directory with offensive material- can it be removed?
Whilst we do not believe in censoring the sites that are listed in the Let’sFind directory, we are aware that some times website content can change and / or contravene our guidelines for submission. If you find unsuitable content with a section of our site, please contact us.

How do I report a dead link?
If you have found a dead link, please fill our feedback form. To do this, go to the feedback page, and simply fill in the form- making sure to choose ‘Dead Link’ from the drop down list

My site was denied- can I appeal?
When your website has been reviewed by one of our editors, an email will be sent to you. If your site has not been accepted, the reasons will be given in the email. If you are not happy, please fill in the website appeal form, stating your account number that can be found on our email correspondence. . To do this, go to the contact page, and simply fill in the form- making sure to choose ‘Website Appeal’ from the drop down list

I want to change the description of the site- is this possible?
Yes, this can be done via change description form. . To do this, go to the contact page, and simply fill in the form- making sure to choose ‘Change Description’ from the drop down list Please note, whilst we will endeavour to change the description of your site, changes to the description are not guaranteed.

What is your privacy policy?

Why hasn’t my requested changes been made?
We don’t guarantee that changes will be made, but we will endeavour to accommodate your wishes. A reason why this may have happened is that the editor believes that the original description better describes what you do.

Can I make new category suggestions?
Of course- if you are submitting your site to the Let’sFind directory and feel there isn’t a category that suits your business please mention this in your submission. Alternatively, please fill in our contact form. To do this, go to the contact page, and simply fill in the form- making sure to choose ‘Other’ from the drop down list
